Letter: Hansard holds evidence on ministers and the truth
Sir: When ministers (or for that matter other public figures) lie, it is I believe obvious to most of us, whether William Waldegrave tells us so or not. It is, after all, no more difficult for an intelligent public to detect a minister's lie or evasive answer than for parents to know when children are trying to hide the truth.
What I have so far been unable to discover, however, is whether ministers know that we know. Or do they really think they are fooling us?
