Letter: Heathrow ordeal
Sir: I fully sympathise with the plight of the Slovakian boy (letter, 6 July) whose 'story' was not believed by immigration officers, despite written evidence of his intentions. My daughter suffered likewise at the hands of US immigration officers at Heathrow. She, too, was not believed, despite written evidence that she intended to return within a week to attend an interview in the UK.
What price parents' efforts to instil values of truth and justice in their children, in the face of such treatment by those in positions of authority?
Yours faithfully,
