Sir: Austen Donnellan 'made love' to a girl in her cups. But instead of being clobbered for it by King's College, as he should have been, he has turned the attempted clobbering to his advantage by winning a court case, getting full media and public support, putting the college that set him on the road to a successful career in the doghouse and humiliating the girl, whose name everyone now thinks should be made public. Very impressive.

Yours sincerely,
