Letter: In with the people who matter

Sir: Resign? Lord Owen? Perish the thought ('Major backs Owen after sacking vote', 21 January).

Who are the members of the European Parliament to call for his dismissal? They were merely elected.

Lord Owen, now, has the confidence of Europe's ministers. He's in big with the main players: Milosevic, Karadzic, Tudjman.

And who in Britain resigns anyway? Carry on mediating, Lord Owen. To the last Bosnian.
