Sir: Barry Linton puts his weight behind a 'full American breakfast' (letter, 25 July). Perhaps he has never been to Ireland, where, as everyone knows, it is a 'traditional Irish breakfast': bacon, eggs, sausages, puddings, mushrooms, tomatoes, fried bread, rashers, baked beans . . .

Yours faithfully,

ANNA CURREY
