Letter: Keeping Cornish sewage at bay

Sir: Patrick Heron was right about the sewage outfall at Gwithian. What he did not mention was that the local people are facing rises of 13-16 per cent in their water charges to pay for it.

Unlike St Ives, most villages gain nothing from visitors except resultant traffic jams. The new sewage system is being built to cope with the increased demand due to the holidaymakers.

Yours faithfully,

SANDRA PETTETT
