Letter: Labour did raise Trident issue after Start treaty

THANK YOU for asking 'why continue with Trident', especially as this represents a 150 per cent increase in the stockpile of nuclear warheads when Russia and the United States plan to reduce theirs by 30 per cent.

What a waste of expenditure when Britain's economy, and most of the world, is so desperate for economic aid - aid that could, if properly directed, remove the causes of war and build institutions of peace and security.
