IT WAS interesting to hear that Lynn Barber, 'a mere wage slave' ('Names? I could call them a few', 6 June), is able to dine sufficiently regularly at the Ritz, the Ivy, the Caprice, Harvey's, Langan's, and Quaglino's to judge the relative efficiency of the service provided. Let's hope, for her sake and Michael Winner's, that the recession continues to ensure 'plenty of unemployed youngsters eager to train as waiters'.
