Sir: Why the innuendo that the Princess Royal waited to remarry until the Archbishop of Canterbury was 'safely in Sri Lanka' (James Fenton, 1 February)? He sent a message wishing the couple 'every happiness and fulfilment in their marriage'. Such elementary Christian benevolence seems beyond the comprehension of many modern journalists.
