Letter: Mencap: taking a pragmatic view of terminology for the disabled

Sir: Further to 'The wilder shores of PC' (21 July), I have needed a wheelchair for nearly three years, suffering as I do from multiple sclerosis, and find 'disabled' a perfectly acceptable term. It is, after all, accurate.

The best PC euphemism I have heard so far is 'physiologically disenfranchised'. Can anyone do better?

Yours neurologically short-circuited,

MARTIN LEE
