Letter: MPs in uniform

I LIKE John Dessauer's idea (Letters, 5 December) of putting MPs into uniform as a discouragement to truancy and moonlighting - something striped perhaps, with sewn-in Performance or Good Conduct badges. On the other hand, being masters of quick, chameleon-like changes, would it not be more prudent - and cheaper - simply to brand them on the forehead?
