Letter: Oyston should pay rent

So Owen Oyston, serving a prison sentence for rape, is in the middle of protracted financial negotiations with Alfred McAlpine and has just purchased a radio station in Northern Ireland ("Oyston halts stadium deal" Business, 24 August). Does the Home Office have no rules regarding prisoners continuing to run their businesses whilst serving sentences for anti-social activities? If it is allowed, why can't we, the tax-payer, as a landlord, object to business activities carried out by a sitting tenant, or alternatively receive the rent due to us from the business?
