Letter: RAF mockery
Sir: The dismissal of Sgt Simon Ingram from the RAF (Living, 5 August) raises a rather incongruous issue. During the Second World War, although at enlistment recruits into the services were asked their religious denominations, none was ever asked his, or her, sexual preferences, thus enabling thousands of gays to fight for their country without hindrance. This makes a mockery of the present anomaly in the RAF.
