Letter: Re-cycling: green cars and old bikes

Sir: As someone with a lifelong interest in all things cycling I must thank you for making Chris Boardman and his superbike front-page news.

I note that the superbike weighs 8.05kg (17lb 10oz). I have on my kitchen wall a reproduction of a poster from, I would guess, the turn of the century. It depicts a fixed-wheel bike being lifted with one finger by a young woman and was sold under the name 'Cycles Aluminium' and manufactured by G. Rupalley in Paris. The machine weighs 8.05kg.
