Letter: Schools should teach the poor to cook

Sir: Could I suggest that neither the Rev Paul Nicolson (letter, 28 November) nor Paul Ashton (3 December) has hit the nail on the head about malnutrition in low-income groups.

The main reason, I feel, is that many people do not have sufficient knowledge of nutrition, and moreover they cannot cook. Why? As a result of the demise of Home Economics in the majority of our schools.
