Letter: Serbs' right to self-determination in a land of artificial borders

Sir: I find with great surprise that my country, the Republic of Macedonia, is placed in the group of "pro-Bosnia" states in the graph under the title "Growing strains in the international community" (News Analysis, 31 May). We do not see any real reason for such a description of our country.

From the very start of the disintegration of former Yugoslavia, the Republic of Macedonia has followed a pro-European policy which gives a good example of how all problems could and must be solved by peaceful means. We support all the efforts of the European Union and the United Nations to find an early political solution of the conflict in Bosnia.
