Letter: Serious messages in Benetton ads

Sir: Just what is supposed to be wrong with the Benetton ad? If they were to insert 'Think about it' in large letters at the top, they would be serving a socially beneficial rhetorical purpose as well as advertising their name. They have no need to insert such a sentence, since your correspondents clearly did think about it (Letters, 12 January). On the other hand, maybe they do after all . . .
