Letter: Smoke, but don't exhale

Smoke, but don't exhale

Sir: I probably speak for all the other agony columnists in Britain when I suggest that our erring sheep, Virginia Ironside, is guilty of intellectual rather than moral failure in her promotion of smoking (Tabloid; "There's no smoke without pleasure", 24 July).

Damaging herself is fine. Nobody cares if she inhales. Or swallows heroin. It's exhaling on others that deserves condemnation.
