Letter: The questioning bank
Sir: NatWest's chief executive claims his bank 'does not actively solicit' customer information (Letter, 21 July). NatWest has recently introduced compulsory form-filling when buying foreign currency, which demands to know (among other information) what the money is needed for.
I queried this nosey-parkerism at the highest level. The reply: it is 'for their records'.
