Sir: Your editorial today ('Straining political credibility') states that Kelvin MacKenzie 'should make it clear which senior Conservative he believes to have been involved in a dirty tricks campaign'. Yet your page-one report on the same (alleged) campaign refers coyly to 'a well-placed former cabinet minister'.

Are you saying the Sun should be judged by higher standards than the Independent? I think we should be told all.
