Letter: Thorny question of the red rose

The Independent Online
Sir: W. E. Brum exhorts the English to wear red roses on St George's Day. I believe most countries are able to find a national flower

and I wonder when we shall see a 'Euroflower'.

Does one already exist naturally, could it be developed by horticulturalists, or does it have to be stylised in the form of many circles?

Yours etc,
