Letter: Time for another Lib-Lab pact

IT SEEMS a splendid idea] Where the combined votes of Labour and Lib-Dem would defeat the Tory, let the third-placed candidate stand down.

But voters in the centre can move either way. More Lib-Dems are disaffected Tories than are ex- Labour supporters. So huge numbers of Lib-Dems could abstain or vote Tory if the alternative were a 'socialist' bogeyman.
