IT WAS a relief to me to read your condemnation of this dreadful calamity. I cannot believe that my country can be party to such savage aggression. Has Blair gone insane? The Serbians must be sorry they helped the British in the last war and left themselves vulnerable to attack from the Romanians, Hungarians, Albanians, Croatians and Bosnians, who all supported Hitler. I do think they deserved better of us but it is my opinion that patient diplomacy for a decent settlement was never the goal.
