Letter: Trap the trappers

Sir: David Lamming (Letters, 16 July) points out that if I warn drivers of a police speed trap I can be prosecuted.

Can someone explain the difference between this and the signs warning drivers of speed cameras? Both warnings are acting as a deterrent, which is the overall objective of radar and camera traps. Should the authorities responsible for the signs also be prosecuted?
