Letter: Under the Nazis

Sir: There was something missing from your map of Europe in 1945 ("Auschwitz remembered", 27 January). You omitted that part of the United Kingdom under Nazi occupation - the Channel Islands. Jews were deported from Jersey, Guernsey and Sark and some were put to death. There were even labour camps on Alderney where many prisoners lost their lives. Does this omission indicate that there is still a degree of denial in the UK (or in the UK press) that part of the country was under Nazi rule for five years?
