THE real issue for the men in 'Used as studs, unwanted as fathers' (Review, 24 April) is that women are now able to exercise greater choice over their own lives. Women's experience of men's contribution to domestic life is generally that taking on a man means more work and emotional strain for her and therefore for any children. Effective parenting and partnering is something men must prove they can do. Access is not a right; it has to be earned.
