Sir: Your report "Virgin set to raise cheap fares by 37%" (31 October) will not surprise cinema-goers in Northampton. Since taking over the only cinema in the town, Virgin have raised the cost of a family of four visiting the cinema from pounds 9.99 to pounds 13.98, a rise of 40 per cent.

What does that nice Richard Branson say about that?
