Sir: With reference to Clare Garner's article " 'Dirge-like' anthem hitting the wrong note" (13 August) I should like to point out that "Men of Harlech" is not the Welsh national anthem.

The Welsh anthem is "Land of my Fathers", or to give it its correct Welsh title, "Mae Hen Wlad Fy Nhadhau", as any rugby spectator would gladly point out, given that this beautiful song receives its most frequent airing at Cardiff Arms Park.
