Letter: What children need from men

ANGELA NEUSTATTER'S article 'Should men work with children?' (25 April), in which I was quoted, did not make clear that my concern about men working with children is both for the children and for the teachers. My husband, a teacher for 22 years, always travels with a female teacher when taking children on school journeys. Perhaps this is a sad reflection on our times, but I prefer to think that it is wise.

Most sex abusers never had a good relationship with any man and we do desperately need good male role models for children.
