Letter: Where Karyn's money will go
I FIND it extraordinary that my personal position as solicitor for Karyn Smith ('A conspiracy theory too far', 25 July) should have been attacked in selective quotations. I did say that: 'Before she was out, everything was for free. Now, everything is for money.' But I also made it clear that before the release the priority was to get Karyn home despite the poverty of the family. From then on we needed to try and sell the story so that the family's outgoings could be reimbursed. Motives are important.
