Sir: You claim that the "Boston Massacre" of 1770 involved British colonial soldiers being "slaughtered by the French and their Indian allies" (report, 4 November). Any American schoolchild could tell you that the victims of the Boston Massacre were ordinary citizens of Boston, shot dead by British "Redcoats" - an outrage that helped to spark the American Revolution.
