WHY ALL this hoo-ha about Daphne Du Maurier? Is there still some stigma attached to even a suggestion of lesbian attraction? Is it still considered unnatural?
I disagree with the seeming embarrassment of certain journalists about Du Maurier's possible lesbian love of Gertrude Lawrence. Why apologise for it? Isn't all love a matter of joy and pride? Now let us consider the more salient aspects of Du Maurier's literary achievements.
