NO WONDER Carol Godsmark is fighting mad and threatening to don boxing gloves ("So you want to use your BR refund vouchers?" True stories from the Great Railway Disaster, No 60, 10 March).

The refund she received while travelling on an InterCity West Coast service was, indeed, valid for journeys on Network SouthCentral. Like all train operating companies in the UK, we are committed to honouring these vouchers.

Ms Godsmark's voucher should have been accepted by our staff at her local station. That it was not was a one-off human error and steps have been taken to ensure it doesn't happen again.
