LETTER:Calculating the rate for the job at British Gas

From Mr Kenneth S. Williams

Sir: The parade of a pig named "Cedric" outside the British Gas AGM by a Trade Union is an insult to the pig. Pigs only eat as much as they need; they do not demand an extra 75 per cent because pigs on another farm are overfed. Nor do they starve their piglets so that the parents can eat more. Their objective in life is simple - to remain fit and lean so they can pass their genes on to the next generation.

If the directors of British Gas continue with their obsession for ever increasing salaries and share options, they may fail in their primary duty of the survival of British Gas.

Yours faithfully,

KENNETH S. WILLIAMS
