LETTERS: Anti-abortionists deserve to have their say

I WAS interested to note that in her article "A matter of life and death" (Real Life, 15 October), Suzanne Glass wrote of the "disturbing presence" of pro-life campaigners.

The nature of such protests serves to highlight the disturbing presence of 500 abortions taking place in this country daily. If Ms Glass disagrees with the methods employed by the individuals described in the piece, it is wrong that this should automatically re- sult in condemnation of their cause.

It seems strange to have such a lengthy discussion about those trying to prevent abortion and at no stage discuss abortion itself. Coverage of protests over the veal trade has resulted in much discussion about live exports; why should pro-life activities be covered in a different way?
