RE YOUR article on Second World War bomber operations from Lincolnshire, "Through wide open skies on a moonless night" (Review, 18 February). The Hampden bomber in the picture was not from H3 Squadron but 83 Squadron; "Captain" William Reid was in fact Flt Lt William "Bill" Reid RAF and the picture of US Liberator aircraft implied US 8th Air Force Bomber Groups operated from Lincolnshire: they never did.
