l According to Allison Pearson "Hard labour at the chalkface'' (19 February), when Spike Milligan got bored with being the subject of This is Your Life, he "set about deconstructing it". In years gone by this might have been called making fun of it. Imagine Milligan's surprise when he discovers he has really been a deconstructionist all this time.
