IS THE whole world to be subsumed by the needs of tourists for cheap lunches in beautiful scenery? Simon Calder's piece on northern Cyprus ('Isle of conflicts', Review, 22 May) complains about the 'banalities of geo-politics'.
Change only comes through international pressure, especially economic sanctions. As a second generation Cypriot immigrant, my family's home has been annexed. How would Simon Calder like not being able to visit his father's house? And then find someone writing about how pleasant it was.
