HELEN Fielding comments that adopting little round glasses would do wonders for British politicians' popularity ("The specs that took over the world", 5 February). Italy's neo-fascist leader Gianfranco Fini was provided with just such an image-softening change - gold with designer twist. It did him no harm, but it was almost enough to put me off the style - almost.
