Janet Jackson announces Las Vegas residency

Janet Jackson has announced her first ever Las Vegas residency, set to start in the spring.

The singer broke the news on social media on Tuesday, revealing that the series of concerts will be called Metamorphosis.

Shows will be held at the Park Theatre inside Las Vegas‘s Park MGM, one of many hotels and casinos on the city’s Strip – where Lady Gaga is holding her own residency until November.

“Hey u guys, I’m so excited to announce my new Vegas residency, ‘Metamorphosis’!” Jackson wrote on Instagram.

She called the residency “a celebration of my journey and the 30th anniversary of #RhythmNation!” – a reference to her album Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814, which came out in September 1989. The corresponding song “Rhythm Nation” was released as a single in October of that same year.

Jackson’s Las Vegas residency will open on 17 May with five more concerts during that month. It will then pick up again in July and August, wrapping up on 10 August.

Tickets will go on sale on 2 March to the general public, with a presale starting on 27 February.
