The ultimate Netflix sleeper hit Ozark is returning for a second season in a matter of months.

One of the streaming service's most popular shows of 2017 will return on 31 August for ten new episodes that'll reunite viewers with the Byrde family following the dramatic events of season one.

This series will see the arrival of ruthless crime syndicate attorney Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer) which will cause struggles for Marty and Wendy, played by returning cast members Jason Bateman and Laura Linney.

“We've done a lot of things. Things that we said we would never do,” Linney's character can be heard saying in the trailer to which Bateman's responds: “People make choices, Wendy. Choices have consequences.”

Also returning are Julia Garner and Sofia Hublitz who'll reprise their roles as Ruth Langmore and the Byrdes' daughter Charlotte, respectively.

Bateman recently found himself at the centre of a controversy following the promotional trail for sitcom Arrested Development which saw him defend Jeffrey Tambor as his co-star Jessica Walter recalled him verbally harassing her on set in tears during an interview. He later issued an apology alongside several of his male co-stars.
