Bebe Rexha says f*ck you to designers who don't want to dress her for The Grammys for being 'too big' at a size 8

Bebe Rexha has called out fashion designers who’ve refused to dress her for the Grammys because they think she’s “too big” to wear their clothes.

The 29-year-old singer, who is a UK size 10, is nominated for two awards at this year’s ceremony and explained in a video on Instagram how members of her team had been speaking to various brands to find something for her to wear.

But she said they had been mostly unsuccessful thus far. “A lot of them do not want to dress me because I’m too big. Literally I’m too big,” she told her 7.3 million followers.

Despite her outrage, Rexha did not name the designers, choosing instead to focus on the principle of their decision.

She went on to explain how absurd it seemed that someone of her frame – a US size eight – would be deemed too large to wear a designer gown.

“If a size six or eight is too big, then I don’t know what to tell you,” she said.

“Then I don’t want to wear your f**king dresses. ‘Cause that’s crazy. You’re saying that all the women in the world that are size eight and up are not beautiful and they cannot wear your dresses.”

“So all the people who said I’m thick and can’t wear dresses: F**k you, I don’t wanna wear your f**king dresses,” she added.

In her caption, the "I’m a Mess" singer urged women not to succumb to expectations set by unrealistic beauty standards, writing: “Empower women to love their bodies instead of making girls and women feel less then by their size. We are beautiful any size! Small or large!”

“Anddddd My size 8 ass is still going to the Grammys,” she defiantly concluded.

Rexha’s video has prompted a wave of supportive comments on Instagram and Twitter, where she also posted it.

“But size eight onwards is just a normal size!” wrote one person.

“You are perfectly gorgeous just the way you are,” added another. “One day, humankind will look back and realise that we have been missing the point all along.“
