Lady Gaga unveils Haus of Gaga exhibition in Las Vegas

Lady Gaga’s Haus of Gaga exhibition has officially opened in Las Vegas, displaying some of the most idiosyncratic outfits worn by the star over the past decade.

Held at the Park MGM hotel, the location of Gaga’s two-year Las Vegas residency, the exhibition features 40 items of clothing and accessories previously stored in the singer’s personal archive.

These include Gaga’s infamous meat dress, which she wore at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards; the celestial Armani Privé creation she wore to the 2010 Grammy Awards; and the silver beaded Atelier Versace bodysuit she wore for her performance at the 2017 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

One of the Oscar winner’s most recent sartorial triumphs, her layered Brandon Maxwell “Camp” Met Gala creation, is also on display at the Haus of Gaga exhibit.

The exhibition was curated by Nicola Formichetti, creative head of Haus of Gaga, the team responsible for Gaga’s constantly evolving and trendsetting style.

Formichetti says putting on the display has been an ambition “for a long time”.

“We’ve always wanted to do something like this and create a space where all of the outfits and shoes and masks and wigs could all live together in a single place for fans to enjoy,” Formichetti tells Vogue.

“Throughout this process I’ve been in touch with her fans and asking them which outfits they want to see and how they envisioned the exhibition space.”

Formichetti adds that the singer has “always been doing what she’s doing for her fans from day one”, which it was why it was vital for her Little Monsters to have their input.

Gaga attended the opening of the exhibition on Thursday evening, much to the delight of her fans.

The singer wore an orange tutu skirt and black cropped slogan T-shirt for the grand opening.

Her T-shirt read: “Don’t be a drag, just be a queen” – a lyric from her 2011 hit song “Born This Way”.

Inside the exhibition, Gaga signed a wall with the message: “Born to be brave. Love yourself. Lady Gaga.”

Several of Gaga’s fans expressed their excitement over the Las Vegas exhibition.

“I’m sick *cough cough cough* the only thing that can cure me is a trip to Haus of Gaga Las Vegas,” one person joked on Twitter.

“GUYS... THIS F***ING PLACE IS EVERY LITTLE MONSTER’S DREAMMMM,” another wrote.

Admission to the Haus of Gaga exhibition is free.

Select items are being auctioned at the exhibition, with all proceeds being donated to Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation.

Founded by the singer in 2011, the aim of the non-profit organisation is to support the “wellness of young people”, while also “empowering them to create a kinder and braver world”.

The Haus of Gaga exhibition is currently a permanent installation at Park MGM, and is open daily from 12pm until 8pm.
