Apple could be about to launch a whole host of new MacBooks.

The company is working on new versions of a wide variety of laptops, according to Apple filings.

The seven new computers have been spotted in Apple's filings with the Eurasian Economic Commission. The company must submit upcoming new releases to the organisation, and in the past such filings have been clues to new iPhone and Apple Watch models long before their release.

The products usually arrive just a few months after arriving in those filings, suggesting the new computers could arrive relatively soon.

The codes say very little about what the MacBooks might look like. They refer to the new computers only as A2141, A2147, A2158, A2159, A2179, A2182, and A2251.

But the sheer quantity of them suggests that updates could be coming across the Apple laptop line. Many of Apple's computers are waiting on updates – some having gone without upgrades for years – and so it's possible that the company could opt to release them all at once.

The most anticipated of Apple's laptops is a rumoured 16-inch model, bringing a screen size not available in Apple's existing laptops. That computer is rumoured to bring with it an all-new design.

But Apple's existing computers are still awaiting a refresh, too. The 12-inch MacBook, for instance, was last refreshed in June 2017. As such, its specifications are lagging behind both competitors and many of Apple's other computers, and it is widely expected to get a new update soon.

The MacBook Pro is still newly refreshed, having only been updated earlier this month. The MacBook Air was only introduced towards the end of last year and so is still relatively recent.

As well as spec bumps, Apple's new updates could bring new versions of its MacBook keyboards. The current products have received sustained criticism for keys repeatedly breaking, and despite Apple's assurances that it is improving the design of new keyboards it is possible that the company will instead release a new mechanism instead.
