Ole Gunnar Solskjaer: Manchester United 'always believed' in PSG comeback

Re-live the latest updates as Arsenal defeated Manchester United 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium in Sunday’s final Premier League clash.

United went into the match hot off the heels of Wednesday's incredible Champions League victory over Paris Saint-Germain, but were unable to maintain both that feel-good factor and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's unbeaten record as United manager in the Premier League.

Instead, it was Arsenal who took the game by the scruff of the neck and a bizarre goal opened up the scoring when Granit Xhaka's long-range effort caught out David De Gea, with the United goalkeeper completely mis-reading the shot and letting in without getting close to the ball. As United pressed for an equaliser, Romelu Lukaku was guilty of missing a number of chances, before Fred was judged to have fouled Alexandre Lacazette and a penalty was awarded to the hosts, which Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang calmly tucked away to secure the victory.

The game to take such a big risk?

The advantage in the top-four race is not the only thing on United's mind this afternoon.

A great initiative from the Gunners today as well.

Here we go! The battle for the Champions League places enters another phase here as the visitors get us going.

Who will take a significant step towards securing a spot?

Early sighting for Arsenal, as Kolasinac's ball across the face of goal is just too far ahead of Lacazette at the near post.

That's ambitious from Aubameyang, trying an overhead kick after Koscielny's intervention, but it goes harmlessly over.

Good start from the hosts though.

More positive signs for the hosts,as Ozil plays in Aubameyang, but Smalling does well to track him and forces the Gabonese to put in a wasteful cross.

The striker attempts to atone for his error moments later on the half volley from 30 yards, but that is similarly wayward.

WOODWORK STRUCK!

It's the bar that denies United the opener!

A glorious ball in from the left-back Shaw finds Lukaku at the back stick and it looks goalbound, but his right-foot effort comes back off the bar.

Kolasinac then gives the ball away inside the box, but Arsenal finally clear.
