Croatia England World Cup semi-final preview

Gareth Southgate has named an unchanged team when England face Croatia in the World Cup semi-final in Moscow.

The Three Lions are one game away from a first World Cup final in over 50 years with the Three Lions boss keeping faith with the lineup that saw off Sweden in the quarter-final on Saturday afternoon.

That means Dele Alli, a goalscorer against the Swedes, keeps his place despite some suggestions that Southgate would opt for the more defensive Fabian Delph to help nullify the danger presented by Croatia's star man Luka Modric.

Jordan Pickford keeps his place between the sticks after a man of the match display last time out while the first-choice back five of Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire and Ashley Young once again return.

Liverpool's Jordan Henderson starts in the holding role in midfield and will charged with keeping a close eye on Barcelona's Ivan Rakitic with Jesse Lingard slightly further forward ahead of him.

Golden boot favourite Harry Kane will again lead the line with Raheem Sterling also keeping his place despite criticism in some quarters for some wasteful finishing in the quarter-final.

Croatia are boosted with Sime Vrsaljko winning his fitness battle after picking up a knee problem against Russia while goalkeeper Danijel Subasic and striker Ante Rebic both make it.

Coach Zlatko Dalic chooses to bring Inter Milan's Marcelo Brozovic into midfield in a bid to free up lynchpins Modric and Rakitic.

Probable England team: Pickford; Walker, Stones, Maguire; Trippier, Alli, Henderson, Lingard, Young; Kane, Sterling

Probable Croatia team: Subasic; Vrsaljko, Lovren, Vida, Strinic; Rakitic, Brozovic; Rebic, Modric, Perisic; Mandzukic
