The Lorax, the latest of Dr Seuss's creations to hit the silver screen
The Lorax, the latest of Dr Seuss's creations to hit the silver screen

What is a Lorax? A small, orange creature,

Who has a big message but isn't a preacher.

He's the star of a book and now of a movie,

About saving the planet and keeping it groovy.

Originally published back in 1971,

It's a mixture of tree-hugging and colourful fun.

By Dr Seuss, it's not very subtle,

And US loggers have offered violent rebuttals.

The film's just out in the States and has made lots of money,

It stars Danny DeVito so it might just be funny.

But like recent remakes of the good doctor's books,

It's eschewed homespun charm for CGI looks.
