Anchorman's Ron Burgundy to release 'autobiography'
Will Ferrell's most famous character promises to 'tell all' about his life so far
Ron Burgundy, San Diego's finest newsreader and star of Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, is to release an "autobiography".
Mr Burgundy - played by Will Ferrell - has promised to "tell all" about his life so far in Let Me Off At The Top: My Classy Life and Other Musings, released in November.
The book follows the success of the Alan Partridge's autobiography I, Partridge, which sold more than 200,000 copies in the UK after its release last year.
A statement issued on behalf Burgundy said: "I don't know if it's the greatest autobiography ever written. I'm too close to the work.
"I will tell you this much: The first time I sat down and read this thing... I cried like a goddamn baby.
"And you can take that to the bank."
Publishers Random House promised "a rare glimpse behind the camera into the real life of a man many consider to be our greatest living news anchor".
There will also be, they said, "personal anecdotes about the women in his life, about his dog, Baxter, and his legendary news team."
The book will be published on 19 November, while a sequel to the film, called Anchorman: The Legend Continues, will be released on 20 December.
