Game of Thrones author George RR Martin set for London fans' Q&A

The event will be streamed live via Facebook so don't fret about missing out

Fans of Game of Thrones, remain on the edge of your seats. George RR Martin is set to appear for a one-off Q&A with fans in London later this month.

The author behind the hit A Song of Ice and Fire series, will take part in the event at a yet-to-be-confirmed central venue on 19 August.

Martin will be joined by fantasy writer Robin Hobb and the duo will discuss their respective literary worlds, characters, storylines and inspirations.

Tickets for this session cost £45 each and include a hardback copy of Hobb’s Fool’s Assassin.

Those who fear missing out, panic not. The Q&A will be streamed live via blinkbox books on their official Facebook page.

“We’re thrilled to have George and Robin together for such an event,” said Charlie Redmayne from the duo’s UK publishers, HarperCollins.

“They are two experts at their craft, and have taken fantasy writing to the widest possible audience through their amazing worlds and characters.”

Fans have become increasingly concerned of late that Martin’s press commitments are distracting him from writing sixth novel, The Winds of Winter. He is renowned for taking a long time to pen each book.

But when one interviewer put it to Martin that some people are worried he will die before finishing the stories, the US author told those people where to go.

“I find that question pretty offensive, frankly, when people start speculating as to my death and my health,” he said.

“So, f*** you to those people,” he added, flipping the bird at the camera.
