Occupy, By Noam Chomsky

This slim collection is a swift response to the protest movement that began when the "99 per cent" mobilised themselves in 2011.

Comprised of speeches, eulogies and Q&As, Chomsky takes us from a brief history of neoliberalism to the "shredding" of Western democracy and calls for an "American Spring".

His claim that Occupy is a response to30 years of class war may have the ring of an old Marxist manifesto, but the notion behind it – we need to change ourselves for the state to change – is very contemporary, given social inequality and political apathy in the West.
